Since becoming a Johnny I've found people that not only have the same interests as you but also people that support you. SJU personally gave me a new sense of pride not only within myself but for where I attend school. It is a privilege to tell people I attend St. John's University.
SJU is different because of how strong the sense of family is not only on the campus but also with the alumni. There are so many resources available for students to take advantage of in order to succeed. When you walk across campus or even attend a game for one of our sports teams everyone has a sense of SJU pride. We are all proud to be Johnnies.
I chose to come to SJU because I automatically saw myself living here calling it my home. the campus and location is beautiful and is also not too far away from my home in Pennsylvania. of how friendly everyone I met was. When I took shadows and tours everyone was very welcoming and it felt like a very safe environment to be in. The success rate resulting from the school after graduation was also a highlight to my decision because it shows how much the institution and alumni cares about the students. I also always wanted to go to school in NYC and SJU is extremely close to Manhattan.
My favorite memory as a Johnny so far is Tip Off and seeing how many students came out and filled Carnesseca Arena. There were so many good vibes at Tip Off and everyone was celebrating St. John's. It's hard to choose one favorite memory when every event is better than the last as a Johnny.
