One thing that makes St. John's different is how diverse it is. Students at SJU come from all over the country (and out of the country), and are from all different walks of life. I think this enhances the school immensely, because there is such a diverse array of experiences and perspectives among students, and we can all learn from each other and grow together because of it.
I chose SJU because I knew I wanted to go to school in New York City, and after touring St. John's I knew I wanted to apply because I loved the campus and could see myself at the school. I was able to choose St. John's because of the generous scholarship they offered me, and I have been very happy here ever since I made the decision to come!
My favorite memory as a Johnny was coming back to school this year. Reuniting with all my suitemates and friends the first day back reminded me why I love going here so much, and why every time I go home I look forward to coming back!
Going to St. John's has made me more outgoing and involved. In high school, I was often hesitant to get involved in new things, but since coming to St. John's, if I see something I want to do I immediately try to get involved. This has led me to so many great opportunities, and I've met so many amazing people through my involvement on campus.
