Tour Guide at St. John's University
Class of 2021
Hometown: Syosset , NY
I chose St. John’s primarily because of its location. Being so close to the city and all the resources there but still being able to have a traditional campus with trees and a great lawn is the perfect combination. I am able to commute but still experience such amazing opportunities.
I have had so many new experiences and have grown comfortable exploring New York City. Due to DNY, the Campus Concierge, the Honors Program and other classes, I have been able to experience more historic and cultural landmarks, operas, ballets and Broadway shows than I ever though I would in college. The opportunities to grow as a person, be confident in the city and become a true New Yorker are great ways that being a Johnnie can enhance your college experience.
St. John’s is different because there is no other school where you can get all the perks of a big traditional college campus as well as all of the job opportunities and famous landmarks that New York City offers. Also, it is probably the only place in the NYC area where most people are friendly and will hold doors open for everyone.
My favorite memory as Johnny has been going to the Winter Carnival with my friends. Seeing all of the school spirit and the truly spectacular and impressive firework show is really incredible. It made me feel like a real part of the St. John’s family.
