Tour Guide at St. John's University
Class of 2021
Hometown: Clark, NJ
Major: Pharmacy (PharmD)
I have changed since becoming a Johnny by becoming more comfortable in my own skin. There have been so many opportunities and organizations that I have become so involved in that have truly allowed me to embrace who I am and who I want to be in the future.
St. John's is different because it is limitless. You have so many opportunities to expand your borders by traveling abroad or going on service trips. You have the choice of staying in our relatively suburban area of Queens or taking a quick trip into one of the busiest cities in the world. You can choose to get involved in as many student organizations as you please or you can start your own! This university offers so many benefits for each student that helps them grow not only as students, but also as individuals.
I chose St. John's because it perfectly combined my passion for pharmacy with all of the extracurriculars I love. I have been lucky enough to be involved in so many different programs that allow me to express the passions I've had for years, and also discover passions that I never knew I had. Although I have a demanding major, I am a Senior Resident Assistant in one of our residence halls, the Manager of our Campus Concierge Desk, and additionally involved in Student Government, the Catholic Scholars program, the Honors Program, Habitat for Humanity, and the American Pharmacists Association (APhA). With so many opportunities to get involved, I could see no better place to allow me to experience them than SJU!
My favorite memory as a Johnny was going on the Panama Service Plunge program. I had the amazing opportunity to travel across the world to work within a community who had never had visitors from outside the community before (let alone from the United States), and it is an experience that will stay with me for the rest of my life!
