Tour Guide at St. John's University
Class of 2021
Hometown: Hauppauge , NY
My favorite memory as a Johnny would definitely be the Winter Carnival. There was a really strong sense of community that night I felt, and it really resonated with me. I don't know many schools that have a firework show on their campus.
Since I became a Johnny I have seen myself become a lot more career oriented. I am constantly surrounded by individuals that are building themselves up and want nothing short of success. I see students juggling jobs, internships, activities and academics and it truly has rubbed off on me. I have always been success-driven but since I realized how important that characteristic is.
I chose St. John's University because when I stepped onto the campus I immediatley felt welcomed. Smiling faces greeted me and I truly felt the sense of community on campus. I felt like a part of the puzzle before I had even been accepted, and that played a great factor in my decision. Additionally, SJU's proximity to New York City was another great selling point for me.
SJU truly does the most for their students. From the rigor of the academics to the easy-going, fun events that the school holds throughout the year, it is easy to see that St. John's truly wants students to get the most out of their time here. I toured many different schools and didn't necessarily get that same feeling that I got from SJU.
