Since becoming a Johnny, I have become much more confident in myself, as well as, in my beliefs. From when I first started St. John's as a Freshman, up until now; I have come out of my shell and have become more comfortable standing up and speaking out for things that I truly believe in.
What makes St. John's University different from other universities/colleges is the amount of opportunities that surround the neighborhood and are located right outside the campus's gates. St. John's is so close to New York City, which allows students to experience cultural diversity, as well as, explore everything that New York has to offer.
I decided to attend St. John's University for a number of reasons. First, I knew that I did not want to go far away for college, but I wanted to attend a school that offered many opportunities that allowed me to discover my passion of what I wanted to study, and then, hopefully; pursue that passion of mine into a career. Which, St. John's has helped me to do!
My favorite memory as a Johnny would have to be the overnight Freshman Orientation. During Orientation, I was able to meet new people and develop new friendships. We explored the St. John's campus, played games, watched movies and ate great food. To this day, I am still great friends with those I met during my Freshman Orientation.
