Tour Guide at St. John's University
Class of 2020
Hometown: Beacon, NY
Major: Speech Pathology
Since becoming a Johnny I have been exposed to numerous different individuals with religions and cultures different than my own. This has given me the chance to learn more about different cultures, and become even more understanding and open to them than I was before. St. John's has also helped me to become more outgoing by having so many friendly people who are eager to help you grow.
What makes St. John's different is the culture and acceptance the university has. Not only is St. John's an extremely diverse campus, the students all fit together as one. To be able to have countless cultures, demographics, and religions at one school while creating a sense of family and community is truly a special aspect of SJU.
My favorite memory as a Johnny was being able to dance at Madison Square Garden the day our men's basketball team beat Duke. To walk into the huge sold out arena which was dominated by blue Duke shirts, and then beat them is such an incredible and unexpected experience.
I chose St. John's not only for the incredible speech pathology program, but for the atmosphere the school has. The gorgeous campus makes me feel as if I'm at home. Although the campus is gorgeous, I am able to travel to the city as freely and easily as I want which makes the university the best of both worlds.
