Choosing SJU was very easy. NYC is my dream city, and being just a train away is absolutely amazing. Close to city, yet SJU has huge campus with lot of green area and great sense of community. Walking around, you would never have a clue that you are just a couple of miles away from concrete jungle with thousands of skyscrapers and that just a couple of miles further is center of the world.
I stepped out of comfort zone and experienced real world. As an accounting major, I got chance to meet many professionals and recruiters from potential future employers. I could say that in short period of time, SJU gave me opportunities to figure out what future suits me, where I want to be, how to get there and to start putting myself in best position to achieve my dreams.
Diversity is one of the biggest. Students from all around America and from all around the world are attending SJU. Coming from small country in Europe, that is opposite of diverse, I wanted to get exposed to different cultures and kind of find where I belong. Coming to NYC and SJU was right choice. Also, global studies, where you get chance to study all around the world. Many colleges have global studies program, yes, but SJU has its own campuses in Rome and Paris, which gives us assurance that we are not going to be left alone abroad. We will be safe, having guidance and protection, yet a chance to roam and investigate on our own.
There were many great ones and it's hard to choose favorite. I guess experiencing SJU spirit on sports events is something that is so far most memorable, as well as making great friendships.
