I chose St. John's, because I identify with our mission statement of Catholic, Vincentian, Metropolitan and Global. I am a Catholic Scholar, which is a four-year scholarship program. I previously participated in the St. Rosalie Rendu Plunge and the Philadelphia Plunge. I also participate in service every week. I greatly appreciate our close proximity to New York City. It was a 'must' for me. And I previously studied abroad in Rome, Seville, and Paris for a semester. I am studying abroad again for Winter Intersession 2017 in Havana, Cuba.
GLOBE is a student-organized microloan program. GLOBE is a semester long course offered to upperclassman in all colleges. We are responsible for providing microloans to budding entrepreneurs in developing countries. GLOBE provides real world business experience, relationship management skills, and an opportunity for you to directly engage with people overcoming poverty. I am able to empower others as a GLOBE student.
My favorite memory as a Johnny is seeing the Vatican from our Rome campus and the Eiffel Tower from our Paris campus. We have the best locations!
I have developed personally and professional since becoming a Johnny. I scored a summer internship at BNY Mellon Dreyfus in the Financial District. I worked full-time for compensation in Investment Management. While interviewing for summer internships, I felt confident speaking to my coursework and leadership experiences at St. John's.
