Tour Guide at St. John's University
Class of 2020
Hometown: Cherry Hill, NJ
SJU is different because it is more than just a campus or a school. It's a home. Everyone you meet will welcome you with open arms no matter where you go. Whether it is Carnesecca Arena, St. Thomas Moore Church, or even the De'Angelo Center, there'a always a warm, friendly face ready to help you or keep you company. Friends are not hard to come by at St. John's!
My favorite memory as a Johnny so far was getting to compete in the Big East Track and Field competition at Villanova University this past May.
I chose SJU because of the location of the campus. The St. John's campus may not be directly in the city like Pace or Manhattan College or NYU, but thats what makes it great. The sights, sounds, and adventures of the city is only a short subway ride away, but at the end of the day, you can come home to our quiet little section of Queens and get away from that hustle and bustle. For me, it would get exhausting!
I have changed since becoming a Johnny by becoming more cultured. As one of the most diverse universities in America, St. John's is a place where so many wonderful cultures, communities, and skin colors can come together in harmony. Since coming to SJU, I have learned so many new things about people from all around not only the US, but from around the world.
