At St. John's I've been living away from home and I've developed a great sense of independence. I've learned to take care of myself and keep my life organized. The people I've met here at St. John's have made my transition to living on my own and my development of independence very smooth as we've all formed support systems for each other.
For me, living at St. John's has been like living a dream. I have a hard time choosing a single favorite memory because I have had so many wonderful experiences since I've been here. If I had to choose, I would say my favorite memories are any evening I go out with my friends to get dinner. I've had the opportunity to meet and enjoy the company of a great number of fantastic and fun people who have made my college experience a blast.
St. John's is different from other universities in its diversity. St. John's has diversity in people since you can meet people from every background imaginable. There is also a large amount of diversity in the things you can get involved with whether it be clubs or academics. Additionally, there is a huge sense of diversity in the opportunities that can be found here from internships to chances to explore the world.
I chose St. John's University for a variety of reasons. In fact, I had a list of the things I was looking for in a school and St. John's checked off all of my boxes. From valuing community service and having great academic programs for me to having a fantastic study abroad program and being located in a major metropolitan area St. John's had everything I was looking for.
