Tour Guide at St. John's University
Class of 2021
Hometown: San Antonio, TX
Since becoming a Johnny I feel that I have become more confident and outgoing. I have felt more comfortable going out and trying new things I normally wouldn't and meeting new people. I haven't held myself back from trying things because I was afraid of failure or rejection. I feel that St. John's is very welcoming to everyone and gives everyone countless opportunities if you work for it. I am very happy with who I have become since attending St. John's.
St. John's University is different from other colleges because of it's opportunities. We offer so many study abroad options all over the world that are affordable for almost all students. Our faculty and staff are experienced in the subject that they teach and are great contacts for job opportunities in New York City.
I chose St. John's University because I wanted to experience New York City but also have a campus where I could feel at home. I felt that St. John's can offer so many career and internship opportunities since New York City is so close.
My favorite memory as a Johnny is the Winter Carnival. There were so many fun holiday activities going on around campus to enjoy with friends. The school had carolers, toy soldiers, horse carriage rides around the Great Lawn, and of course the firework show at the tree lighting ceremony.
