Tour Guide at St. John's University
Class of 2021
Hometown: San Marcos , CA
I chose St. John's for a number of reasons, but what got me to first apply was the combination of a traditional college campus and the proximity to Manhattan. However, I didn't truly make my decision until my campus tour. When I got on campus it felt like a home away from home, and by the end of the tour I was ready to commit.
Coming to St. John's has helped me find my passions, and start to lock in on what I want to do once my time here is done. I've made great friends, and become a more understanding and worldly person.
My favorite memory as a Johnny is easily, the Men's Basketball team beating Duke at Madison Square Garden. I was in attendance, and being in the student section was absolutely surreal. Great win, can't wait for more.
SJU is different in so many ways, but for one this school is so diverse and accepting that there is a place and a group for everyone on campus. Not to mention the great academic and career resources the school offers. I'm a business student, and the new renovations in Bent Hall, like the stock ticker and the Bloomberg Lab are very cool and very useful.
